Haringey long-server retires

Posted by news desk in Local News, 3rd July 2008, 3:11pm

Haringey's longest serving council worker, enforcement officer, Reg Hart, last week said farewell to colleagues at a ceremony to celebrate his 43 years working for Haringey Council and 48 years in local government.

Cllr George Meehan, Haringey council leader, presented Reg with a certificate and Haringey's chief executive, Dr. Ita O' Donovan, presented him with a book of farewell wishes from colleagues.

Around 100 people turned up to Reg's send off including traders - now friends - who Reg had chastised in the past. One of his colleagues presented a poem about Reg which she had written specially for the occasion.
