Muswell Hill schools awarded for green travel
Two Muswell Hill-based primary schools have picked up road safety awards that recognise their green school travel plans where children are actively encouraged to walk or cycle to school.
Earlsmead and Our Lady of Muswell Primary Schools picked up the TfL Sustainable Level Accreditation Award for showing a commitment to sustainable travel through their School Travel Plan and monitoring its progress.
The scheme will also provide incentives and rewards for London schools that embrace travel plan development. Those that go well beyond the minimum requirements will be celebrated as examples of good practice.
Haringey had a total of 20 schools awarded at Sustainable Level and seven schools awarded at Higher Level in 2009.
